Human Prothymosin Alpha ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Prothymosin Alpha (PTMA) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The product is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a pre-coated microplate. An antibody specific for PTMA is immobilised on the plate; standards and test samples are added and captured, then detected using a Biotinylated Anti-PTMA Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and PTMA concentration is calculated against a standard curve. Reported sensitivity is 0.059 ng/ml, the quantitative range is 0.156–10 ng/ml, and the total assay time is approximately 4h 30m.

Reported recovery ranges across sample types are serum 80%–102%, EDTA plasma 81%–100%, and heparin plasma 80%–89%. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
