Human Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human COX1/Cyclooxygenase 1 (Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase 1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for COX1/Cyclooxygenase 1 is pre-coated onto a microtiter plate, and standards or test samples are added so that the target is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-COX1/Cyclooxygenase 1 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The absorbance at 450 nm, read on a colorimetric microplate reader, is proportional to the amount of COX1/Cyclooxygenase 1 present.

The reported detection range is 0.625–40 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.241 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes, and the kit is suitable for serum, plasma and tissue homogenates.
