The procedure uses a pre-coated microplate together with a biotinylated anti-MPGES-1 antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate, and TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The reported product range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.061 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4 h 30 min. Recovery in spiked samples has been characterised in serum (range 80%–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, average 90%, n=5), and heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, average 84%, n=5), with linearity across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 also provided.
