Human Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 5 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 5 (PCSK5) in tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate with an antibody specific for PCSK5, and PCSK5 is detected using a biotinylated anti-PCSK5 antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. The enzymatic reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, producing a colour change read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, with the concentration of PCSK5 calculated against the standard curve.

The kit has a sensitivity of <0.054 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. The procedure is suitable for serum, EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. Product specification data show serum recovery averaging 91% (range 80%–102%, n=5), EDTA plasma recovery averaging 90% (range 81%–100%, n=5), and heparin plasma recovery averaging 84% (range 80%–89%, n=5).
