Human Proenkephalin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Enkephalin/ENK in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. Reactivity is specified for human samples, and the assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate and the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for Enkephalin/ENK is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added and the captured analyte is then bound by a Biotinylated Anti-Enkephalin/ENK Antibody. Following incubation with HRP-Avidin conjugate, TMB substrate is used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm. The stated assay range is 0.156-10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.062 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Reported average recovery is 91% in serum (range 80%-102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%-89%). Linearity data are provided at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
