Human Procollagen III N-Terminal Propeptide ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Procollagen III N-Terminal Propeptide in serum and other biological fluids, offered under the Antibodies.com brand.

The kit employs an antibody specific for the target pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added and the analyte present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Procollagen III N-Terminal Propeptide Antibody binds the captured target, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the yellow intensity is proportional to the amount of target captured in each well. Concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of <5.60 pg/ml, an assay range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Recovery averages cited in the product literature are 91% for serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 91% for EDTA plasma (range 81–101%, n=5), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Detection is colorimetric on a pre-coated 12 x 8 well strip microplate. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
