Human Procalcitonin ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Procalcitonin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate with an antibody specific for Procalcitonin, followed by incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Procalcitonin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. Signal is developed with TMB substrate and the absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, with Procalcitonin concentration calculated against a standard curve.

The quantitative assay has a working range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 12.6 pg/ml, with detection performed colorimetrically. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery was reported in serum (average 91%; range 80%–102%, n=5), EDTA plasma (average 90%; range 81%–100%, n=5), and heparin plasma (average 84%; range 80%–89%, n=5), and dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the same sample types.

Kit components include a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilized standard, Detection Solutions A and B, Wash Buffer (30X), Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution, and plate sealers. Components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
