Human Prion Protein ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Prion Protein (PrP) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, or other biological fluids. An antibody specific for Prion Protein PrP is pre-coated onto the microplate wells. Standards and test samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Prion Protein PrP detection antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate, and a TMB substrate solution. The density of the resulting yellow product, proportional to Prion Protein PrP concentration, is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

Reported quantitative performance is a sensitivity of <0.117 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312-20 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 h 30 min. Recovery data (n=5) give averages of 91% for serum (range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%). The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers; components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
