Human Presenilin 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Presenilin 1/PS-1. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for Presenilin 1/PS-1 pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, and the target present in each sample is bound by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Presenilin 1/PS-1 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate solution. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The kit is suitable for use with tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids, with reactivity confirmed for human samples. Storage of components is at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Reported sensitivity is less than 0.124 ng/ml, with an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been evaluated in serum (range 80%–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, average 84%, n=5). Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 has also been demonstrated for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
