Human Prenylcysteine Oxidase 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the quantitative determination of human Prenylcysteine Oxidase 1 (PCYOX1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. Reactivity is human.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate platform arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for PCYOX1 is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-PCYOX1 Antibody and then an HRP-Avidin conjugate. Signal is generated with TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution, and is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader.

Manufacturer-reported performance includes an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.115 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery averaged 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 91% in EDTA plasma (range 81–101%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Total assay time is 4h 30m, and components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
