From Antibodies.com's Assays and Kits range, this sandwich ELISA (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Polymeric Immunoglobulin Receptor (PIGR) in serum, plasma, urine, saliva, or other biological fluids. The assay is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader and follows a standard sandwich enzyme immunoassay format in which an antibody specific for Polymeric Immunoglobulin Receptor/PIGR is pre-coated onto a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 × 8 well strips), with detection via a biotinylated anti-PIGR antibody and HRP-avidin conjugate, visualised with TMB substrate and quantified by reading O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The product range spans 3.12–200 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <1.25 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4h 30m. Reported recovery in undiluted samples (n=5) was 80%–102% (average 91%) for serum, 81%–100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma, and 80%–89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma. Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (n=5) was 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% for heparin plasma.

Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the product must not be used past its expiration date.
