From Antibodies.com, this is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human CD36 (Platelet Membrane Glycoprotein IV) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with colorimetric detection. The O.D. absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and CD36 concentration is calculated from a standard curve. The total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

According to the manufacturer, the assay range is 0.156-10 ng/ml and the sensitivity is 0.063 ng/ml. In spike-and-recovery testing (n=5), average recoveries were 91% for serum (range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%). Dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the three sample types.
