Human Platelet/Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human CD31 (Platelet/Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. An antibody specific for CD31 is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, followed by a biotinylated anti-CD31 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. After incubation with TMB substrate and addition of acidic stop solution, the resulting colour intensity is read at 450 nm and is proportional to the CD31 concentration of each sample.

The assay has a quantitative range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <13.6 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported average spike-and-recovery values were 91% in serum (n=5), 91% in EDTA plasma (n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (n=5), with recovery ranges of 80–102% in serum, 81–101% in EDTA plasma and 80–89% in heparin plasma. Dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across the three sample types. Kit components include the pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, biotinylated detection antibody, HRP conjugate, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, with storage temperatures between +4°C and -20°C as indicated on the labels.
