Human Placenta Growth Factor ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Placenta Growth Factor (PLGF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with a PLGF-specific antibody. Standards and samples are added to the wells and the PLGF present is captured by the immobilised antibody; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-PLGF Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and is directly proportional to the amount of PLGF captured in each well.

Detection is colourimetric, with a reported sensitivity of <5.7 pg/ml and a product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery has been characterised in serum (n=5, range 80-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81-100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80-89%, average 84%).
