Human PIGF ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human PIGF in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The assay follows a quantitative sandwich ELISA technique: a monoclonal antibody specific for human PIGF is immobilized onto microwells, and standards or samples are pipetted in, followed by a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for PIGF. Unbound substances are washed away before streptavidin-HRP is added. A substrate solution then reacts with HRP and colour develops in proportion to the amount of PIGF bound; the reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is read on a microplate reader.

Reactivity is human, with no significant cross-reactivity reported, and the kit can assay both native and recombinant human PIGF. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform. The assay range is 15.63 - 1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <1.67 pg/ml. Average recovery from serum samples is reported as 111%. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past its expiration date.
