Human Phospholipase A2, Group XIIB ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Phospholipase A2, Group XIIB (PLA2G12B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids [S1]. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate carrying an antibody specific for PLA2G12B. Standards and samples are added to the wells and bound by the immobilised antibody; following washing, a Biotinylated Anti-PLA2G12B Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow after addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader [S1].

The kit reports a sensitivity of less than 0.058 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes [S1]. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed [S1].

Sample recovery has been characterised for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma; average recovery values of 91% (serum), 94% (EDTA plasma) and 94% (heparin plasma) are reported in the manufacturer's specifications [S1].
