Human Periostin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Periostin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for Periostin pre-coated onto the wells of a 96-well microplate.

Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where Periostin is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Periostin Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader. The stated assay range is 78.1-5000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of <33 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.

Recovery has been demonstrated in serum (n=5, range 80%-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%-100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%-89%, average 84%) matrices. The pre-coated microplate platform is supplied as 12 x 8 well strips, accompanied by lyophilised standard, detection solutions, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers, with an easy-to-follow protocol suitable for serum and plasma applications.
