Human Perilipin 1 ELISA Kit

This Antibodies.com kit is a sandwich ELISA (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Perilipin-1 in tissue homogenates, cell lysates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) with an antibody specific for Perilipin-1 immobilised on the wells. Standards and samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Perilipin-1 Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; the absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration is calculated from the standard curve. The reported assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.053 ng/ml, and the total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported sample recovery averages 91% in serum (range 80%–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%, n=5), and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80%–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity has been reported across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma samples. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
