P-Selectin (CD62P, SELP) is a calcium-dependent lectin stored in Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells and alpha-granules of platelets, then rapidly translocated to the plasma membrane upon activation by thrombin, histamine, or inflammatory cytokines. This Antibodies.com quantitative immunoassay measures soluble P-Selectin in human samples using a matched antibody pair immobilized on a microplate, with detection achieved through an enzyme-conjugated secondary antibody and substrate development. Each kit provides reagents for 96 tests in a strip-plate format. Researchers apply the kit to investigate endothelial activation, platelet function, thrombosis, and inflammatory disease research, including cardiovascular and autoimmune studies. Reconstituted standards and biotinylated detection antibody should be stored at 4 degrees C, while unused strips should be kept sealed with desiccant. The protocol works with serum, with EDTA/heparin/citrate plasma, and with cell culture supernatant samples. The standards provide a calibration range useful for clinical and research applications, and the assay demonstrates specificity toward P-Selectin with no meaningful cross-reactivity with E-Selectin or L-Selectin.
