Human Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein ELISA Kit

The assay employs a pre-coated microplate and the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for Oxidized LDL is immobilised on the plate, standards and test samples are added, and captured Oxidized LDL is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Oxidized LDL Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate.

Visualisation relies on TMB substrate solution, producing a blue colour that turns yellow after addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve. The stated product range is 31.3–2000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of <12.4 pg/ml and a total assay time of 4 h 30 m. Reported recovery across neat samples averages 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma, with dilution linearity demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.
