Human Osteoprotegerin ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Human Osteoprotegerin ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Osteoprotegerin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, onto which an antibody specific for Osteoprotegerin has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, and the captured Osteoprotegerin is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Osteoprotegerin Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Optical density is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the Osteoprotegerin concentration is determined from the standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

The product range is 0.156–10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 0.057 ng/ml. Detection is colorimetric. Spike-and-recovery testing showed average recovery of 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
