It is supplied on a pre-coated 96-well microplate format arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and employs a Biotinylated Anti-nkx6.1 Antibody together with an HRP-Avidin conjugate, with signal developed using TMB substrate and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Performance specifications include a sensitivity of 0.096 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312-20 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery testing across five replicates gave average recoveries of 92% in serum (range 82-102%), 96% in EDTA plasma (range 90-102%), and 94% in heparin plasma (range 88-100%).
