Human Neutral Sphingomyelinase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human nSMase in tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with detection performed colorimetrically by reading absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader following addition of TMB substrate and acidic stop solution.

The kit has a reported sensitivity of 0.067 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and reagents must not be used past the expiration date. According to the manufacturer documentation, the product is for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use.

Recovery has been characterised for serum (average 91%, range 80–102%), EDTA plasma (average 91%, range 81–101%) and heparin plasma (average 84%, range 80–89%).
