From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human NAIP (Neuronal Apoptosis Inhibitory Protein) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for NAIP that is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-NAIP Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. Detection is performed using a TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <0.058 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4h 30m. In recovery testing across sample types, serum (n=5) averaged 91% (range 80–102%), EDTA plasma (n=5) averaged 90% (range 81–100%), and heparin plasma (n=5) averaged 84% (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity is reported at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 for serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma.
