Human Neurofilament, Light Polypeptide ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) supplied by Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human 68kDa Neurofilament/NF-L in serum, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for 68kDa Neurofilament/NF-L pre-coated onto a microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the target is bound by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-68kDa Neurofilament/NF-L Antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by the addition of an HRP-Avidin conjugate. Following further incubation and washing, TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution.

The stated product range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <5.9 pg/ml. The assay is read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm, with a reported assay time of 4h 30m on a pre-coated 96-well microplate platform. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date. Reported recovery ranges include serum (n=5) 80%-102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5) 81%-100% (average 90%), and heparin plasma (n=5) 80%-89% (average 84%).
