Human Myeloperoxidase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Myeloperoxidase (MPO) in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma samples. The assay is based on a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay format in which a monoclonal antibody specific for human MPO is pre-coated onto microwells. Standards or samples are incubated with a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for MPO, and any unbound substances are removed before streptavidin-HRP is added. A substrate solution is then introduced and reacts with HRP, with colour development proportional to the amount of MPO bound by the immobilised antibody; the reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured on a microplate reader.

The kit can assay both native and recombinant human MPO and has shown no significant cross-reactivity. It operates over a standard range of 62.50 – 4000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <28.72 pg/ml, and an average recovery of 104% has been reported from serum samples. Detection is colorimetric on a microplate platform, and components should be stored at +4°C and not used past the stated expiration date.
