Human Myelin Basic Protein ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) kit from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Myelin Basic Protein. It is suitable for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cerebrospinal fluid, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

The assay is performed on a pre-coated microplate to which an antibody specific for Myelin Basic Protein has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Myelin Basic Protein Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Myelin Basic Protein captured in each well, which can be calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 4h 30m. The product range is 15.6-1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 7.2 pg/ml.

Recovery has been validated in serum (80%-102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81%-100%, average 90%, n=5), and heparin plasma (80%-89%, average 84%, n=5). Dilution linearity has also been demonstrated across serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
