Human Mucin 21 ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human MUC21 (Mucin 21) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate platform arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, with detection performed colorimetrically by reading O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

The kit exhibits a sensitivity of <0.056 ng/ml and a quantitative working range of 0.156-10 ng/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m. The procedure follows a sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for MUC21 is pre-coated on the plate, standards and samples are added, followed by Biotinylated Anti-MUC21 Antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate detection, with signal development via TMB substrate and an acidic stop solution producing a yellow colour proportional to the MUC21 concentration.

Reported recovery in serum (n=5) averages 91% with a range of 83-100%, in EDTA plasma (n=5) averages 96% (range 90-103%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) averages 94% (range 90-99%). Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is also reported for matched serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.
