Human Mucin 2 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Mucin 2 (MUC2). It is reactive with human samples and intended for use with tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and other biological fluids. The kit employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate in a 12 x 8 well strip format, where MUC2 in standards and test samples is captured by an immobilised antibody, followed by incubation with a biotinylated anti-MUC2 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate.

The colourimetric reaction is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with the intensity of the yellow colour proportional to the amount of MUC2 captured in each well. The assay range is 0.312–20 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.116 ng/ml, and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
