Human Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 1 (MCP1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit shows reactivity with human samples and is based on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips.

An antibody specific for MCP1 is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added and any MCP1 present binds to the captured antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MCP1 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of MCP1 captured, and concentration is calculated from the absorbance read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader against the standard curve.

The kit has a stated product range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 6.6 pg/ml, with a typical assay time of around 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values average 91% for serum (range 80-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81-100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
