Human MMP-2 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human MMP-2. It employs a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay format in which a monoclonal antibody specific for human MMP-2 is immobilized onto microwells. Standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for MMP-2, so that MMP-2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody and the detection antibody. After unbound substances are washed away, streptavidin-HRP is added. Substrate solution reacts with HRP and colour develops in proportion to the amount of MMP-2 bound. The colour development is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured by microplate reader.

The kit is intended for cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma samples and shows no significant cross-reactivity. It can assay both native and recombinant human MMP-2. The stated product range is 1 - 64 ng/ml with a sensitivity of 69.14 pg/ml. The average recovery from serum samples is reported as 108%. The kit is stored at +4°C and should not be used past the expiration date.
