Human MMP-1 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human MMP-1 in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The assay uses a quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for human MMP-1 is immobilized onto microwells; standards or samples are pipetted into the wells, followed by addition of a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for MMP-1. MMP-1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody and the detection antibody during a first incubation. After removal of unbound substances, streptavidin-HRP is added; substrate then reacts with HRP and color develops in proportion to the amount of MMP-1 bound.

The kit has been shown to have no significant cross-reactivity and can assay both native and recombinant human MMP-1. Detection is colorimetric and the optical density value is measured by a microplate reader after the color development is stopped by addition of acid. Reported performance includes an assay range of 156.3 - 10000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of <11.19 pg/ml, and an average recovery of 107% from serum samples. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
