Human Midkine ELISA Kit

Designed by Antibodies.com for the quantification of human Midkine, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is intended for in vitro research applications. The assay runs on a pre-coated 96-well microplate using a colorimetric TMB-based detection system, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Captured Midkine is bound by a biotinylated anti-Midkine detection antibody and visualised using an HRP-avidin/streptavidin conjugate; the TMB reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The kit is reported to show no significant cross-reactivity with other similar analytes.

The kit supports quantitative determination of Midkine in samples including serum, plasma, EDTA plasma, heparin plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernates, depending on the configuration selected. Standards and samples are loaded directly onto the antibody-coated wells; following incubation and washing the bound analyte is detected and the colour intensity, which is directly proportional to Midkine concentration, is read against the standard curve.

Total assay time is approximately 4 to 4.5 hours from sample addition to final readout, and the plate is read on a standard colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored according to the protocol, generally at +4°C or -20°C, and should not be used past the stated expiry date.
