A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Microtubule Associated Protein 2 (MAP2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) together with a biotinylated anti-MAP2 antibody and HRP-avidin detection. Signal is generated with TMB substrate and read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.
Stated performance figures are a sensitivity of <6.3 pg/ml and an assay range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 h 30 min. Manufacturer-reported spike-and-recovery values are given for serum (80–102%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (81–100%, average 90%, n=5) and heparin plasma (80–89%, average 84%, n=5), along with dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for the same three sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
