Human Methylthioadenosine Phosphorylase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Methylthioadenosine Phosphorylase (MTAP) in tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well pre-coated microplate format (12 x 8 well strips) and is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader, with absorbance read at 450 nm.

The kit employs a sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for MTAP is pre-coated onto the microplate; standards and samples are added and MTAP is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-MTAP antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; the intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to MTAP concentration, which is calculated by reference to a standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of <0.063 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
