Human Metallothionein 1M ELISA Kit

This sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Metallothionein 1M in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. An antibody specific for Metallothionein 1M is immobilised on the plate; standards and samples are added, and captured analyte is detected with a Biotinylated Anti-Metallothionein 1M Antibody, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The colour change is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of Metallothionein 1M is calculated against the standard curve. Total assay time is approximately 4h 30m.

Manufacturer-reported performance: sensitivity <0.97 ng/ml and assay range 3.12–200 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery in serum (n=5) ranged from 83–100% (average 91%); EDTA plasma (n=5) ranged from 90–103% (average 96%); heparin plasma (n=5) ranged from 89–102% (average 95%). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions showed serum 79–110%, EDTA plasma 73–109% and heparin plasma 77–110%. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
