Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 8 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com for the quantitative in vitro determination of human Matrix Metalloproteinase 8 (MMP8) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with human samples and is supplied as a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips.

Standards and samples are added to the coated wells and any MMP8 present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-MMP8 antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then introduced and the enzymatic reaction is stopped with an acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The assay has a reported product range of 39-2500 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <19 pg/ml, with a total incubation time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

Kit components are stored according to their individual requirements: the pre-coated plate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, and sample dilution buffer are kept at -20°C, while the wash buffer, TMB substrate and stop solution are stored at +4°C. Reported average recovery is 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma.
