Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 7 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Matrix Metalloproteinase 7 (MMP7) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for MMP7. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where MMP7 is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MMP7 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; the intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of MMP7 captured. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and MMP7 concentration is calculated from the standard curve.

The assay has a reported sensitivity of <0.055 ng/ml and a product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. It is intended for use with human samples and the total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported average recovery is 91% from serum (range 80%–102%), 90% from EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%) and 84% from heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Colour development is measured using a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
