Human Matrix Metalloproteinase 16 ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Matrix Metalloproteinase 16 (MMP16) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where MMP16 is captured by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-MMP16 Antibody binds the captured analyte in each well. An HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added, and TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of MMP16 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is <0.063 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. The total assay time is approximately 4h 30m. The kit contains a pre-coated 96-well microplate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, and plate sealers, with components stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. It is validated for use with serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates.
