From Antibodies.com, this Sandwich ELISA kit enables in vitro quantitative determination of human MASPIN (Mammary Serine Protease Inhibitor) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

Assay principle: an antibody specific for MASPIN is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are added to the wells, and MASPIN present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, wells are incubated with a Biotinylated Anti-MASPIN Antibody, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. The TMB substrate reaction yields a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance at 450 nm, read with a colorimetric microplate reader, is compared against a standard curve to calculate MASPIN concentration.

Key performance specifications: sensitivity <2.32 ng/ml, assay range 6.25-400 ng/ml, total assay time 4h 30m, storage at +4°C or -20°C. Reported spike-and-recovery ranges (n=5) were 86%-100% (average 93%) for serum, 87%-102% (average 94%) for EDTA plasma, and 88%-100% (average 94%) for heparin plasma.
