A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Mannose Receptor (Macrophage mannose receptor 1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique: an antibody specific for Mannose Receptor is pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate, standards and test samples are added, and the captured receptor is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-Mannose Receptor Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. Catalysis produces a blue product that changes to yellow on addition of an acidic stop solution, and the concentration of Mannose Receptor is calculated from the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The assay is quantitative with a stated range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.109 ng/ml, performed on a pre-coated microplate (12 × 8-well strips) with a total run time of 4 h 30 min. Manufacturer-reported recovery in undiluted samples is: Serum n=5, 80%–102% (average 91%); EDTA plasma n=5, 81%–100% (average 90%); Heparin plasma n=5, 80%–89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (n=5) is given as: Serum 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%; EDTA plasma 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%; Heparin plasma 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%. Kit components should be stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
