Human Low Density Lipoprotein ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL). The kit is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is intended for use with a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

The assay uses the sandwich immunoassay principle: an antibody specific for LDL is pre-coated on the microplate, standards and test samples are added, and captured LDL is detected with a biotinylated anti-LDL antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. After addition of stop solution, the absorbance of the yellow product is read at 450 nm and the LDL concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve. The manufacturer's stated product range is 0.781–50 ng/ml and the sensitivity is <0.35 ng/ml.

Reported mean recovery values across n=5 samples per matrix are 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Dilution linearity across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (n=5 per matrix) spans 74–107% for serum, 79–108% for EDTA plasma and 82–105% for heparin plasma. Kit components are to be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
