Human Leptin ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Leptin in cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma. The kit can assay both native and recombinant human Leptin and has shown no significant cross-reactivity.

The assay uses a quantitative sandwich ELISA format. A monoclonal antibody specific for human Leptin is immobilized onto microwells, and standards or samples are pipetted into the wells where Leptin is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a biotin-linked monoclonal antibody specific for Leptin is added. Following a further wash to remove unbound detection antibody, Streptavidin-HRP is added. Substrate solution then reacts with HRP, producing colour in proportion to the amount of Leptin bound. The reaction is stopped by addition of acid and the optical density is measured by a microplate reader. Detection is colorimetric.

The assay range is 312.50 - 20000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 12.9 pg/ml. Average recovery from serum samples is reported as 98%. Kit components should be stored at +4°C and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
