Human Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Interleukin 6 (IL-6). The kit is reactive with human samples and is suitable for serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) in a colorimetric format read at 450 nm with a standard microplate reader. Detection relies on a biotinylated anti-IL-6 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate, with TMB substrate producing a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to IL-6 concentration. The stated assay range is 7.81–500 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 3.11 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Reported recovery averaged 91% in serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5), with dilution linearity demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across all three sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as indicated and not used past the kit expiration date.
