Human Interleukin-5 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Interleukin-5 (IL-5) ELISA kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human IL-5 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and other biological fluids.

The microtiter plate is pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific to IL-5, and quantification relies on a biotin-conjugated monoclonal antibody and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP), with a TMB (3,3',5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution. The resulting colour change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The kit has shown no cross-reactivity with other cytokines tested and can detect both natural and recombinant human IL-5.

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of < 7.5 pg/ml and an assay range of 7.5–1000 pg/ml. The total assay time is 3 hours 30 minutes, the platform is a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips), and the kit is shipped and stored at 4°C.
