Human Interleukin 5 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Interleukin-5 (IL-5) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is built around a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) using an immobilised anti-IL-5 capture antibody, a biotinylated detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate; TMB substrate yields a colour change read at 450 nm.

The standard curve covers 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 6.2 pg/ml, and the full assay is completed in 4 hours 30 minutes on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Spike-and-recovery validation across five replicates returned average recoveries of 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma, with dilution linearity (1:2 to 1:16) ranging between 74% and 108% across the same matrices. Components are stored at either +4°C (wash buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution) or -20°C (pre-coated plate, lyophilised standard, detection reagents), and the kit should not be used past its stated expiration date.
