Human Interleukin-4 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Interleukin-4 (IL-4) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and other biological fluids. It is reactive with human samples and recognises both natural and recombinant human IL-4. The assay has shown no cross-reactivity with other cytokines tested.

The kit uses a quantitative sandwich immunoassay format run on a pre-coated microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards or samples are incubated with a biotin-conjugated monoclonal antibody specific for IL-4; bound IL-4 is then detected using Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) and a TMB (3,3'5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution. After the enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution, the colour change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported performance characteristics are an assay range of 6.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of < 6.6 pg/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m, and detection is colorimetric. Kits are shipped and stored at 4°C.
