Human Interleukin 18 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Interleukin 18 (IL-18) in serum, plasma, urine, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reactivity is human and the assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) read on a colorimetric microplate reader at 450 nm.

The kit has a stated product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.3 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and should not be used past the expiration date.

An anti-IL-18 antibody is pre-coated on the plate and binds IL-18 from standards and samples. After washing, a biotinylated anti-IL-18 antibody and then HRP-Avidin conjugate are added. TMB substrate produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance proportional to IL-18 concentration. Reported spike-and-recovery values are: serum 83–100% (average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma 90–103% (average 96%, n=5), and heparin plasma 89–102% (average 95%, n=5).
