IL-12 is a p70 heterodimer (p35/p40 subunits) secreted by activated dendritic cells, macrophages, and B cells, where it drives Th1 polarization, stimulates IFN-gamma release from T lymphocytes and natural killer cells, and bridges innate and adaptive immunity.
