Human Interleukin-11 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Interleukin-11 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant. The assay applies a quantitative sandwich immunoassay using microtiter plate wells pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific to IL-11. Standards or samples are incubated in the wells, followed by a biotin-conjugated polyclonal antibody specific to IL-11. Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is then added, and a TMB (3,3'5,5' tetramethyl-benzidine) substrate solution produces a colour change that is terminated with a sulphuric acid solution and measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm.

The kit includes two calibration diluents: Calibrator Diluent I for serum/plasma testing and Calibrator Diluent II for cell culture supernatant testing, allowing a standard curve of Optical Density versus IL-11 concentration (pg/mL) to be generated. The detection type is colorimetric on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips), and the total assay time is 3h 30m. The assay has shown no cross-reactivity with various other cytokines super-family proteins and can detect both natural and recombinant human IL-11.

According to the manufacturer, sensitivity is < 4 pg/ml and the assay range is 4-1600 pg/ml. The kit is shipped and stored at 4°C.
